In case you have been wondering, I’m still alive and kicking. The rumors of my death have been wildly exaggerated
The last 18 days have been crazy. I think I have been home for 2 of them. So, as a recap of life and what is in store for us, here we go:
Kellie and I spent 4 days with the pastor search committee from First Baptist in Mooresville, Indiana. God has answered our prayers and led us to a group of people who are committed to Christ, His church and I believe a common vision for advancing the His kingdom. Over those 4 days, He really melded our hearts together and in a way that I cannot explain other that His grace and mercy, He has given me a love for those people. Today I began the process of submitting my retirement papers to the military. I say the process, because nothing in the military is a one-stop shop and nothing is quick or easy. But I believe that God will guide us through this process and bring us to FBC in His due time. We are still waiting to find a good week to go in view of a call but expect that to be sometime in Dec or early Jan. So pray with us that God moves and overcomes any barriers to His will being accomplished.
After Indiana, Kellie and I spent about 5 days in Las Vegas where I had to provide a briefing to a conference. The rest of the time was an opportunity to just be together which was fabulous. She is a great lady and I have no friend like her!
A day after getting home, I was back on the road to the UK for a week. More work
Tonight, I took Kellie to the hospital in Lueven, near Brussels. She has her operation tomorrow morning, so if you think of it, pray for her. We trust that God is in control. In fact, we know for sure that He is and that gives us great comfort. The skill of the surgeon and the good work of the nurses is great. But only God brings healing and restoration. So we have put the results of the surgery in His hands. I’ll let you know tomorrow night how she is doing.
Well, that is our life in a nutshell. Stressful, yes. But I wouln’t trade it for the world. His grace carries us through everything and there is a peace that goes beyond comprehension.
